Acupuncture

Using acupuncture, we prompt your body’s intelligence to restore balance and bring you back to homeostasis. Getting to the root of your symptoms is our mission and each acupuncture point acts as a gate—sending energetic information electromagnetically via the fascia deep into the body.

Our board-certified acupuncturists determine each individual patient’s needs and then creates a customized plan, while being mindful of where Western medicine would be useful as well. Explore some of the ways acupuncture works:

Promotes Healing

Offering a small electrical prompt to the body to restore homeostasis & balance.

Releases Blockages

Releasing areas of blocked Qi which stimulates organ function & promotes health.

Improves Circulation

Promoting circulation in the body improves function and healing where needed.

Decreases Pain

Acting as a natural analgesic, acupuncture interrupts pain signaling.

Balances Body Chemistry

Influencing the body’s biochemical responses via the nervous system.

Reduces Inflammation

Reducing pro-inflammatory markers, or proteins, in the body.

The Acupuncture Ecosystem

Acupuncture

Acupuncture points are chosen according to your specific diagnosis. Once the needles are in, most of our patients feel a sense of deep relaxation & even sleepiness!

Cupping

Cupping feels like massage (only, in reverse!). By gently pulling the muscles and fascia upwards, it draws toxins to the surface of the skin where the immune and lymphatic systems are better able to eliminate them.

Moxibustion

Ai Ye is an herb used to warm and stimulate acupuncture points through a process called moxibustion. It improves circulation to relieve pain, boosts energy, and is used to warm the uterus to treat some types of infertility. We even use it to encourage breech babies to turn.

Gua Sha

Improves local circulation and breaks up scar tissue or adhesions in the muscles and connective tissue. It is also a great adjunctive technique for treating respiratory conditions.

Chinese Medicine is Energy Medicine

The term energy medicine refers to the wide range of healing modalities used to diagnose and treat illness by manipulating the energy—the vital life force referred to as “qi” in traditional Chinese medicine—that pulses through the cells of our bodies. Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of energy healing and at Yinfinite Wellness we practice it in a thoroughly modern way.

The Science of Acupuncture

Acupuncture originated in China around 3,500 years ago and remains one of the oldest, most commonly used systems of healing in the world. These days, science can explain its effectiveness. Connective tissue winds around the needles, increasing electrical conductivity. Doppler ultrasound shows that acupuncture increases blood flow and circulation. MRI readings demonstrate that acupuncture prompts observable changes in the brain. Thermal imaging reveals that acupuncture reduces inflammation.
