The time change is coming up –are you overly hopeful that one hour of sleep will correct for days or months of bad sleep?
It won’t. We have better solutions.
First let’s talk about why you might be getting bad sleep:
1-Blood sugar. If your body is starving for energy because your blood sugar has dipped too low, your brain will wake you up
2- Cortisol. This stress hormone cortisol is supposed to be low enough at night to let you rest. But it won’t be under the following conditions: when you are in a hormone transition, a new or protracted illness, and/or mental or emotional stress.
3- Parasites. They are awake at night, and they will keep YOU up. Forty percent of us have one at any given time.
So, how do u solve for bad sleep?
Well, the best way is to come in and chat with us. besides advising on the proper supplements as necessary, acupuncture has been shown in dozens of RCTs to improve sleep quality due to its effect on all three of those causes of insomnia -the gut-brain axis, the nervous system and neuro-endocrine pathways.
You can help yourself by avoiding high-sugar snacks or alcoholic drinks within 4 hours of bedtime, AND taking a helpful blood sugar BUG: Akkermansia- a probiotic that produces GLP-1, like Ozempic and Wegovy, and helps to manage your blood sugar.
